How to play
Rules and tips
- You're the green paddle on the left; the computer is the red one on the right.
- The ball starts from the center. Return it into the computer's side and score when it gets past its paddle.
- With every return the ball gets faster; after every point, so does the next serve.
- Where the ball hits the paddle changes the angle: the tip sends it off sharply, the center returns it straight.
- The first to 5 points wins the match.
Court tips
- Don't chase the ball: wait in the middle and move only when it crosses midcourt heading your way.
- Use the tip of the paddle on purpose to create angles the computer can't reach.
- Against fast serves, line your paddle up at serve height before the ball is released.
Controls by input type
- Mouse: slide over the court; the paddle follows the cursor's height.
- Touch: drag your finger across the court on a phone or tablet.
- Keyboard: up and down arrow keys, with the court focused (Tab to it).
- Screen readers: each point and the score are announced in text.
