What we did so Gamer Aqui Spot works with a keyboard, screen readers and different preferences. Last updated: August 26, 2026.

We want Gamer Aqui Spot to be usable by everyone, and we use the WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines as our reference. Below is what's already in place, described specifically, game by game.

Keyboard

  • General navigation: all links, buttons and menus can be reached with Tab and activated with Enter or Space, with a visible focus outline.
  • Battleship: Tab moves across the enemy sea and Enter fires at the focused cell.
  • Snake: the arrow keys (or W/A/S/D) change the snake's direction; there are also on-screen arrow buttons.
  • Tic-Tac-Toe: Tab moves across the cells and Enter places your ✕.
  • Nim: Tab moves across the sticks and Enter takes sticks starting from the focused one.

Screen readers

  • Every cell has a label describing its position and content.
  • An announcement region (aria-live) narrates each move: hits, sunk ships, wins, puzzle solutions and the end of the game.
  • The cookie notice and the preferences window use appropriate dialog roles and labels.

Visuals and motion

  • Contrast: text and controls were chosen to keep good contrast against the site's light background.
  • Reduced motion: if your system asks for reduced motion (prefers-reduced-motion), we disable non-essential transitions and animations.
  • Responsive layout: pages adapt from narrow phones to large screens, with no horizontal scrolling.
  • Images: illustrations have alt text; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
